Wide area protection system and apply its in power system 500 kV of Viet Nam

This paper introduces Wide Area Protection System (WAPS) which helps the process of predicting, updating about the states of power system in the real time more continued. It used many communications (microwave, power line communication, optical fiber cable…) and multiple layers. The experts will analyze the information about loads, generators, structure of network faster than traditional protection system and then prevent faults in large area better. And then, this paper proposes building WAPS in power system 500 kV of Viet Nam.
