This paper presents porous NiTi synthesized by vacuum sintering (VS) method. The results showed that, sin- tering temperature required for formation of equiatomic NiTi from mixture of Ni and Ti powders was 1000oC for (46) h. The XRD analyse showed that beside required equiatomic phase NiTi, there are always non-equiatomic phase such as NiTi2 and Ni3Ti. The porous NiTi samples had low porosity (about 11%13%), and their porosity depended on sintering time. The porosiry of samples could clearly improve by adding the space-holder (the poros- ity was able to reach 53% with 63% opened pore. Pore size was in range of (200700) m, pore surface was rel- atively smooth.
