This paper presents porous NiTi synthesized by vacuum sintering (VS) method. The results showed that, sin- tering temperature required for formation of equiatomic NiTi from mixture of Ni and Ti powders was 1000oC for (46) h. The XRD analyse showed that beside required equiatomic phase NiTi, there are always non-equiatomic phase such as NiTi2 and Ni3Ti. The porous NiTi samples had low porosity (about 11%13%), and their porosity depended on sintering time. The porosiry of samples could clearly improve by adding the space-holder (the poros- ity was able to reach 53% with 63% opened pore. Pore size was in range of (200700) m, pore surface was rel- atively smooth.
