Research of Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system over powerline

Counting and measuring electrical energy are the main job of elctrical engineeing. Business target is the most important issue of every power station. When doing the business, one has to pay attention to the costand the power loss. Using the high technology in managing electric energy will reduce the labour cost, especially business electric power loss in the process of transferring. Thus, the Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) over powerline has started being used in the world and also in Vietnam. Difficulties encountered when implementing this system are loss of signal and interferences on powerline. In this article, besides the introduction of AMR model, the authors analyze and select the optimal modulation method to reduce the impact of impairment loss and interference and enhancing the speed of AMR system. Research results give new possibility for practical applications.
