Priciple of the minimum coolant lubricity is to put a small amount of coolant into cutting area with high presure in the form of tiny liquid drop. The amount of coolant used for the same cutting conditions and time is smaller, the cooling efficiency is much higher compared with traditional techniques and there is no effect of the coolant on the surrounding environment. In order to implement this new technique into practice in Vietnam and find find suitable vegetal oil available in the country for the cutting process, the author carried out experiments in cut off turning. The results have highlighted prominent advantages of the new method compared to the conventional coolant techniques. It has been found that the use of vegetant oil available in Vietnam as a lubricant and coolant is a health and environmental-friendly solution.
