Titanium carbide (TiC) reinforced copper (Cu) composite was fabricated via powder metallurgy route. The process involves mixing, compacting and sintering of Cu-TiC mixture with TiC contents varied from
1 to 5wt%. After sintered at 900°C, cold extrusion was applied on specimen
and electrical, mechanical properties of specimen were investigated. Results
obtained show the relative density decreases when TiC content increased. An enhancing in tensile strength was observed at less than 2% TiC, larger dose reduces tensile strength of the material. Lower electrical conductivity was also observed at higher TiC content.
