Affect of voltage regulation to optimal locations and size of capacitor be in the design, operation distribution systems

Reduction of power loss and improving the voltage profile always are cared in design and operation distribution system. This paper introduces methodology to use capacitor to reduce locations and size to be a power loss reduction index in distribution system and using OPF model to determine optimal locations and size of capacitor with a objective function is power loss minimize and capacity of capacitor, voltage regulation constraints. Research results were surveyed on Distribution System 22 kV, 33 nodes in the GAMS environment.
