Recently, the distribution system design and palnning has changed due to the impacts of DG and electricity market restructuring. Therefore, this paper proposes a two stages model for optimizing planning of distribution system with the presence of DG. The proposed model can determine optimal upgrading sizing and timeframe of equipment in distribution systems. Besides, optimal displacement, sizing, technology and installation period of DG are also determined. The model's the objective funtions is minimum life cycle cost for the planning scheme. The constraints are used to guarantee the technical and economic indicators of the systems. The calculation program is made in GAMS environment. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model are verified by the result of applying it to a test systems.
