A study on synthesis technology of TiC from TiO2 and carbon soot

This work studies the influence of mechanical energy on the synthesizing temperature of titanium carbide (TiC) from titanium oxide (TiO2) and carbon soot. Powder mixture was crushed with different values of time. Results analyzing of X-ray diffraction and DTA, showed that the high - energy mechanical milling process reduced the temperature at synthesis starting of TiC, and made small fine particles TiO2 and amorphous material.
