A method to choose the hardness of working surface and material to manufacture the metal snagging whell pressing head 100*6*22

Metal snagging wheels are manufactured at Hai Duong Grinding Wheel Company by pressing through three stages. Due to extremly high friction between the pressing head grinding abrasives and the mould, the pressing head are worn out very fast. Up to now, studies of wear mechanisms of the pressing head and solution for ennhancing the life of the head are not realy understood. This paper present a solution to select the pressing head material and determine mechanical characteristics of the pressing head as a fundamental for manufacturing the pressing head in Viet Nam in order to get longer tool life comparet with imported ones.
